Kel wants nothing more than for Lady Alanna to be her knight master. Settling for less, Kel’s knight master turns out to be more. Lord Raoul, leader of the Third Company of the King’s Own, takes Kel on. Kel must prove to the men of the Own that she is as good as, even better than, most boys.
Meanwhile, Kel’s Ordeal of Knighthood is coming closer and Kel still hasn’t met her hero, Lady Alanna. Kel’s nervousness for her Ordeal, mixed with the ongoing feud with one of the boys, may end in death for either one. Can Kel prove to everyone that she can be whatever, whoever, she wants?
