Alanna has slain her enemy, saved the queen, and most importantly, won her shield. She has ridden off in search of adventure after having told the entire court of her true identity.
Alanna is captured by the Bazhir, desert tribesmen, and becomes their shaman. Her friendship with Jonathan hits more than a few bumps in the road, and she becomes closer (if that's even possible ) to George.
