My Grandma's Cinnamon Buns
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tspns baking powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tspn salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup applejuice


  • Topping
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tspn cinnamon
  • 3-4 tbsp margerine


  • Preheat oven to 425°f
Add flour, baking powder, sugar and salt into a bowl. Mix in the shortening until the mixture resembles fine bread crumbs. Add the apple juice and stir it with a fork, slightly sticky dough should form. Turn onto floured board, knead 8x10x's, roll out into a rectangle.
Make a mixture of the brown sugar and cinamon, melt the margerine then spreaad it over rolled out dough, ssprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mix and *opptional raisins.
Roll up like a jelly roll, cut crosswise into 12 pieces.
Grease baking pan generously with some of the melted margerine.
Bake in preheated oven 425°f for 20 mins. Turn over immediately.
*If used raisins in advance wash and allow to dry.
