Evelyn Hart was born in Ontario in 1956. She started her training at the age of 14. She was a principal dancer with the Royal Winnipeg ballet. She represented Canada all over the worl performing in shows and competitions, in ballets such as Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, and Swan Lake. She won the gold medal at the International Competition in 1980 in Bulgaria. She was awarded the order of Canada for her work.
Karen Kain was born in Hamilton in 1951. She began training at the age of 11 in the National Ballet School. She eventually joined the company as a principal dancer. She won two silver medals in international dance competitions, and guest appeared internationally,becoming the most well-know Canadian ballet dancer. She also has degrees from several universities. She was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of Canada. The French Government made her and Officer of the Order of Arts and letters, and she was the first Canadian to receiver the Cartier Lifetime Acheivement Awawrd. She is now retired and is the artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada.
