When you first come there you wake up in a dark elevator and all you remember is your first name nothing else about your life or how you got there. The Glade has gardens and a slaughter house and a place where they sleep.Everyone works somewhere but there are other people called runners that every day they go out and map out the maze that surrounds the glade and every night it shifts and changes and every day they look for a way out and map it.The main character in the novel is thomas and after he arrives to the Glade everything starts to change for the worse.
