* To make your characters more realistic give them physical, temperamental and emotional flaws! Remember, you want to make your character relate able

Keep your character in a box, i know, surprising right? But unless your character is a super human (and even if they are) they have to have limits and flaws. Your character (if human) should not be able to kill five Ogres, do two tipple back flips and slay a dragon unscathed. Even if they have super 'training' they should not be that inhuman. If you want people to enjoy your novel the characters must be relate able.

If your character is super human or not human at all. For example, the ability to become invisible. Give them limits! For example: the invisible person can only stay so for X amount of time, they must be concentrating the whole time and they can still be hurt. Get my drift? Keep them believable!

Also rules are key! To make your characters or world as believable as possible try to create as many laws, items and places that may not even be mentioned in your novel! Imagine different types of religions that might be in your world and how they would effect the 'Kingdom' etc.
